Café Training Scheme
Opening in February 2010, The Blue Moon Café will provide training opportunities to people from the local area. The project is offering a route into training for those who have not been motivated or had the experience to take up standard catering employment. The Blue Moon Cafe will ensure that the training has had the necessary rigour without being mundane and soul-destroying. It will provided an accessible and supportive route into work for those who were not ready for the mainstream job market due to their lack of qualifications and other circumstances, and whom other employers were unlikely to employ.
The training encourages the gaining of skills, confidence and experience to enter employment or further education.
Training Scheme
A key part of the café ethos is an ongoing initiative to train people in this working hospitality environment. Each trainee will join us for a 13 week period, during which time they'll gain the knowledge and experience as well as the skills and confidence to step out into the industry…and beyond.
Fair Trade and Organic where possible
We strive to use fresh, organic, free-range, fair trade and local ingredients wherever possible, and to support neighbouring businesses with a similar ethos. We believe food that is in-season and has enjoyed an uncompromised journey to your plate simply tastes better.
Home-style cooking and baking
All our hot main dishes are prepared on the premises using fresh ingredients. Cakes and bakes are oven-fresh: kneaded into life and whisked together by our inspired team.
A hub for the local community, we extend our support and respect by offering great food and drink at fair prices.
